And if you are getting a new dog, you should feed it what it is used to eating. Sudden changes in diet can upset a dog’s digestive tract, causing vomiting and/or diarrhea.So start by asking the person you’re getting the pup from what he is used to eating. Then get a bag of that and a bag of whatever you want to feed him and gradually transition him to your prefered food by mixing the old with the new. Start with just the old. Next week use 1/4 new and 3/4 old. Continue on, replacing 1/4 of his ration with the new food each week until he is totally on the new food.

AND ALL FOOD from a single source like Menu Foods, no matter what brand it is sold under, should list who manufactured it, and if ingredients are imported, from where? Currently only food products from fish must declare foreign ingredients. People have a right to know where the food they buy is coming from.
