Most miscarriages occur before 12 weeks. Occasionally one will occur around 15-18 weeks (this is called “late miscarriage”) but this is fairly uncommon. I wouldn’t be concerned by the figures, just watch for bleeding and cramping …

can you have a miscarriage at 8-9 months of pregnancy?
Q: Ok, so this girl I know said she was pregnant… 9 months ago, she was “DUE” to have her baby two weeks ago.. She all of a sudded said she had a miscarriage and had a D&C done, I asked her about it today, I said where is your baby at, she said I had a miscarriage. I asked her your not gana have a funeral for your own baby? she said no, i said yeah because there was no baby… she didnt say anything to me.during her 9 months of pregnancy i had seen her often and she didnt get any bigger, of course she was already on the heavier side… but her stomach never got hard. and her mom told us that her ultrasound she had, she printed it off the internet…she said she was going to the doctor that i had went to the year before for my son, they do 3D ultrasounds, hers was not 3D…so pretty much i think she is leing. how could you have a miscarriage at 9 months and not have a funeral for your baby!?!?! she acts as if nothing had ever happened.so can someone tell me if it is even possible. because i dont see how it is.she is such a lier, she tells so many lies she doesnt know whats the truth and whats not.
A: A miscarriage that would require a D&C ends at 20 weeks. After 20 weeks it would be a baby – and would be considered still born. It would definitely be still born at 9 months. And if she had actually lost a baby you would know it, unless she is just heartless. I had my son at 24 weeks and lost him after 26 days.. I could hardly get out of bed some mornings. It was one of the most devastating things that anyone could ever go through, to lose a child, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
I’m 5 months pregnant and passed out hitting the hard flooring. Is a miscarriage possible?
Q: I was standing in line tonight at subway ordering dinner with my two boys ages 3& 7 and my head got tight feeling and I passed out from standing straight up. Ilanded on my back, cracked my head off the hard linolium, and don’t rememberfalling. My head does not hurt at all from it nor do I have a headache. Theytryed calling the EMT (emergency medical transist) but I couldn’t have my kidsride in the ambulance… I don’t have anyone to watch them. So I denyed medicaltreatment. What was I supose to do, see if they 15 year old subway girls that Idon’t know could watch them for say 4 hours? YA RIGHT!!! Well my stomach andback hurt BAD so I called the baby doctor, it is closed, called the ob dept ofthe hospital that I will be delivering at and they WON’T call the oncall doctor.WTF!?! They said I have to come in, but since I will have the kids they can onlycheck my blood pressure and take blood. They said that they canNOT do anultrasound with the boys there. I don’t know what to do. I give up!Do you think steady back and stomach pains are signs of a miscarriage? Do youthink that I am going to loose the baby? I am 5 months along and just found outit’s a little boy. What should I do?
A: Im sorry you are unable to get into a doctor and find out if the baby is okay.Try not to stress over it and remain calm, stress for the baby is bad anyways. Try to lay down and relax and rub your stomach to relax. No one knows if you had a miscarriage or not, its something you need to go in asap and get checked. I’m sure you would be bleeding soon though if that was the case, so be sure to keep checking for that. Cramps can be a sign of miscarriage, but also you fell… it could be just from being sore. like I said, try to get to a doctor asap, or get ahold of a baby center.Stay positive and hang in there. good luck!
Forgetting to take Birth Control, possible miscarriage?
Q: I have been taking Birth Control for over a year now. In the last few months I have been purposely skipping my period using my birth control, My doctor told me it was safe. This past month I was never really consistent with taking my pill at the usual time due to working days/nights, more then once I forgot to take it on the proper day. On the last couple pills I started spotting so I stopped taking them completely, I thought I was going through a normal period, but it is very dark, and today I noticed a grey disc shaped tissue, it was not a blood clot, it was rubbery and tough, I don’t think it could have been torn in half. And it was very noticeable. Was this a miscarriage? Or was it because I wasn’t letting myself have a period? I had no Symptoms whatsoever of pregnancy, and I did not experience any unusual cramping or pain during my period. Im a bit confused, any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I haven’t been sexually active in at least two months if that helps.
A: Wow. Ok – as much as your doctor says it is safe, there are always risks when messing with nature. And you can trust things more (doesn’t mean entirely) that have been around for at least 10 years. Check out webmd.com, they have a part where you can read about all the recalls or other banned products or flagged products for even the common drugs. Now, you should be seen right away. It is possible you could have had a miscarriage. Have a blood test, they should be able to tell you if you were – the hcg hormones should still be detectable (depends on how long ago). Please don’t take this the wrong way, but you see something really strange come out of you & you didn’t make a call to your gyn right away? ALWAYS be seen when you have problems like this. Every pregnancy is different with just one woman, pregnancy is that much more different for each woman. You may not experience any symptoms at all during a pregnancy, other than the obvious growing belly. If you’re going to take the pill, take it. Once you miss a dose, the cycle of pills are off, & then, so are you – I have heard that spotting is common while on the pill. That rubbery thing – not really sure. You DO need to be seen. Get your questions answered – that’s what they’re their for.Not being sexually active for at least 2 months – it is still possible that you could have conceived shortly before that time, the pregnancy terminated itself & because you had no symptoms – how could you tell you were pregnant to begin with? With a naturally terminated pregnancy, sometimes your body either takes its time or can’t release it the way it needs to. Again, you should be checked.I wish you all the best of luck with this. And in the future, don’t completely trust your doctors – that can get you in a lot of trouble. They do make mistakes. So, do your research on the drugs you take; always ask if there are natural remedies (time proven is more reliable). Do research on everything. Never be afraid to ask & trust your instincts!!
