Apparently she had been pregnant at least 2 months ago (the timeline is tricky as she’s had 2 owners– both rather negligent) and miscarried sometime after. Her nipples are still rather enlarged, although I was told she should “dry up” within a week. I was told she had been to a vet and he said everything was fine- I plan on calling on Monday to follow up with this. However, she appeared to have gone into heat tonight. Obviously this can’t be a true heat due to her timing. Since I don’t know when she miscarried, or honestly if she really even did, I was wondering if this was normal or not. Any advice or help will be great appreciated. I do plan to get her fixed as soon as I can. I have zero interest in breeding her.

Q: my 9 month old jack russel terrier had a miscarriage this morning. only one pup. the cord got wrapped around the mothers pelvic, and got stuck. now that the mother has come out of the drug medicane, she is looking for her baby. is there anything i can do to help her? i’m really worried. it was a horrible labor.we took her to the vet, HE was the one who got it out. so don’t jump down my throut about that. the mother dog is going to be ok. we do not know how she got pregnant. she is an inside dog and we were very careful to watch her when she was outside. we did not want to get her spayed first because we planed on having puppies when she got older. this was an accident. we had no intention of getting her pregnant. now that this has happened we don’t want to go through it again we ARE getting her spayed, thankyou. this was an accident, and it might help if people would lay off. we are hurt by this. thank you to those who tryed to be simpathetic. the mother dog has stopped bleeding and is back to normal, almost. she just continues to look for her pup.
