Q: I am on birth control and take it everyday at the same time I have only been off by like 15 mins a few times and I think an hour one time but I have never missed a pill. I am on ortho cept and have been for over a year. Now me an my bf have sex and usually he wears a condom for extra protection and only a few times without but he has pulled out before he came. Well tonight we had sex and he gave me no warning and came in me this is the first time ever that this has happened and I am scared that I could be pregnant. Right now I am on the 2nd day of the inactive pills and I am supposed to start my period thursday. Basically my pills are 21 active orange pills and 7 inactive pills plecebos. I am on the in active, is it safe to have sex like this when on the inactive pills? Can I get pregnant? What are the chances based on what I said above? I am 19 if this helps. Please help me and add any advice or facts you know and please do not be mean or rude.Another question Would I still get my period this thursday? A: I think you really need to ask your doctor about some of this, just remember that NO contraceptive is 100% effective. Even when you’re on the pill there is like a 3% chance of getting pregnant, so yes it is possible. The best thing to do is to always use a condom as well to make sure. If you are concerned that you might be pregnant, take a test or see your doctor. You may have got lucky and not got pregnant at all. As for the burning, don’t assume that because you’re both monogamous with each other that there aren’t other conditions you can pass along 😛 You don’t have to be promiscuous to get things like fungal rashes and other skin conditions. There could be a number of reasons for the burning sensation, you could be allergic to his semen or perhaps there wasn;t enough lubrication. You could get married and pregnant and its all legal and not even awkward. Seriously you’re not even related. Go on continue having sex and having a relationship until you get married or break up. 16 and my period still isnt regular?

Q: First, a few details:1. im 16 years old2. only been getting my period for about 2 years now3. still irregular4. when i do get my periods, they tend to be 5-6 sometimes 7 days long and are heavy the whole time.5. my period doesnt come some months and sometimes it comes every 35-49 days. is this normal for me? my doctor told me that after about a year of getting my period, it should become regular and it hasnt. my doctor offered to let me start birth control to try and see if that would make it regular but my mother refused to allow it because she feels that would give me that idea that i can go around and have sex and go wild. (not true)is there anything i can do to maybe convice my mother to allow me to try the BC and regulate it? or is there anything i can try other than birth control to regulate?

A: birth control pills are a good idea, especially if your doctor suggested it in the the first place. however, it seems like your mother will not be convinced. try telling her everything you’ve told us and that you’re NOT going to have sex you are just concerned that it’s affecting your health and see what she says. you could also go to planned parenthood or a similar woman’s clinic because you do not need parental permission there.
