PLEASE HELP!!!30 Weeks pregnant, severe abdominal pain presumably gallbladder. Any Advice?
Q: I am 30 weeks pregnant. I told my obgyn over a month ago that I was having severe abdominal pain under my right rib. She told me it was likely my gallbladder and to adjust my diet and follow up in 30 days. Well my pain had actually gotten worse after I changed my diet. I ended up in the urgent care where as much of an abdominal ultrasound that could be performed was. After 8 hours and a ton of blood samples accidentally from my artery none the less they were inconclusive as to where my pain was coming from because they had limited vision from my daugheters positioning. They did how ever find some “good sized” kidney stones. Now, I know that is not the pain I am suffering from, although I am anticipation the passage of those suckers any day now. I have increased my fluid intake to over 2 gallons of cranberry and water a day. Try that for a week then talk to me about being uncomfortable… The doctor did not eliminate gallbladder disease, he said I needed to see a specialist and have a more complete ultrasound performed. Little did I know, a urologist wont come near me because of my pregnancy. I am in unbelievable amounts of pain. I was told the baby is more than fine and as long as I can tolerate the pain under my ribs I will be ok. Well guess what. I cant take it anymore!!! It hurts all the time! Im scared to stretch because it kills me, I cant eat because I have no room and it causes sharp burning pains. Im scared its going to rupture. Is there anyone who knows what I can do? I appreciate consolation but I need some serious advice!!!
A: The very best and only thing for you to do is to call your OB doctor. Any medical problems during pregnancy should be handled by the OB doctor. You may have to be persistent with your complaints. If you have to, call him every hour or go to his office. Insist on being seen. The pain is causing you stress which in turn can cause the baby stress. It is very important that you MAKE the doctor listen to you.Good luck, I hope I helped.
Pelvic and lower abdominal pain while Pregnant?
Q: I have extreme pain in my lower abdominal (pelvic)area front and back! It really hurts in the front. I’m sore between my legs. It hurts to roll over in bed, it hurts to walk around even for 10 mins. My doctor suggested I buy a maternity belt, which I did but I don’t think its helping. Since I bought the belt, my butt now hurts. I feel real stiff and I walk around like I need a cane. I really hate to complain to my family cause I know they tired of hearing about how much pain I am in and I’m tired of hearing how this suppose to be normal, when I hurt so bad! I’m so scared I won’t be able to make it full term….I’m 27 weeks now….I had my son at 24 weeks…Is there anyone out there that can relate?
A: Sounds like you just need to take it easy. Sit down, put your feet up…RELAX. The maternity belt sounds like a good idea, but in all reality you may need the advice of a chiropractor. When I was pregnant, the baby and weight gain put a terrible strain on my back and even pushed some discs out of place slightly. To compensate for my back pain I walked slightly hunched over and in turn my abdominal and pelvic muscles ached horribly, going to see the chiropractor was a god send and he helped me make it through the last months of my pregnancy. Make an appointment, it can’t hurt.
