Having sharp pains in my stomache and a lot of gas?
Q: My husband has been dealing with very sharp pains in his stomach and has had a lot of gas these past 2-3 weeks. He’s been eating healthy: salads, fruit, vegetables, fish, tea, etc. We were thinking it could be something he’s been eating, but I’ve been eating almost the same things as him and I’ve been fine. We did have steak tartarre when we went on holiday so I don’t know if that has to do anything with it. Does anyone have any idea what this could be or what would relieve this pain and gas?The pain is below his stomach and he thinks it could be his intestines. He thinks it could be wind but it’s getting much worse. When he uses the restroom now it hurts. Hope this added information helps.
A: it is possible that your husband has problems digesting the fiber foods. They may not be causing you a problem, but for him it’s different. He needs to take a digestive enzyme capsule with every meal. This is going to aid the body’s digestive process. For now he needs to make a slight adjustment to how he’s eating so that the foods are soothing to the intestinal Area. As a general rule, the grain and cereal foods at the top of this list make the safest, easiest, and most versatile soluble fiber foundations for your meals and snacks.Rice, Pasta and noodles, Oatmeal, Barley, Fresh white breads such as French or sourdough (NOT whole wheat or whole grain)* Rice cereals, Flour tortillas, Soy, Corn meal, Potatoes, Carrots, Yams, Sweet potatoes, Turnips, Beets, Squash and pumpkins, Mushrooms, Chestnuts, Avocados (though they do have some fat), Bananas, Applesauce, Mangoes, Papayas (also digestive aids that relieve gas and indigestion)*Please choose a baked-daily, high quality, preservative-free brand. White bread does not mean Wonder. He should start taking metamucil powder 1tsp. first thing in the morning unless they get night. This is going to start removing the waste from the intestines that can form painful gas. This is going to take time.

Sharp pains on my lower left abdomen, gas, etc. Can anyone shed some light?
Q: Yesterday I started getting sharp pains on my lower left abdomen before having a bowel movement. The pain was very painful and lasted only a few seconds, as it seemed my bowel movement was “making its way down”. After I went I still have an overall discomfort, with some sharp gas pains. If I “push” as though I need to go it hurts in my lower abdomen. It almost feels like I need to go, but I don’t. It also hurts a little in my rectal area when I sit down as well as that same pain in my stomach. I have had a tiny amount of occasional bleeding, but I assumed it was a hehmroid from giving birth 9 weeks ago. REgardless, I am going to see my dr, but in the meantime can anyone point me in a direction. COuld it be my colon?
A: For now, before you go see your doctor, try laying on your bed/couch with your knees bent to your chest,if it is flatuance,it will help relieve that, also lay on your tummy. The blood may very well be from your hemmoroid, and they usually do flare up after and before a bowel movement with flatuance.
