A: This problem may be caused by a disorder in the base of the nail. Sometimes nothin to worry about and only effects your nail growth. Just try to buy a 3 or four way buffer and buff them out. They appear deeper than they really are. A good buffer will do the trick. Just follow the directions on the packaging. There is a product by OPI called ridge filler that works great on filling in the ridges and making them look smoother. Ridges can also mean problems in the nervous system. You may need to have that checked out. You can always go get a manicure and instead of polish you can ask them for a good buffing.
