Could be dangerous due to the hormones in the pill, however I know of someone who got pregnant and didn’t realize she was pregnant and she kept taking the pill for like 4 months! If that is the case, see a doctor

Birth control pills these days are not as strong as they were when they first came out decades ago. There is no real risk of harm to the baby. Women can get pregnant on birth control and not realize they are pregnant. Those babies are fine….

what happens if…..?
Q: you didn’t know you were pregnant and you continued taking birth control pills. Would it cause you to miscarry? Would it hurt the baby?I’m not pregnant, its just something I have always wondered.
A: When I was 38 years old I unexpectedly conceived when I was taking birth control pills for 11 years. I did not know I was pregnant, I had no symptoms and continued to have periods due to the hormones in the birth control pills. I found out at my yearly physical that I was pregnant and had to have an ultrasound to determine how far along I was. We were all totally shocked to find out I was 17 weeks along. I had taken my birth control pills every day as usual the whole time. I was very worried about how the baby was affected, but my doctor assured me that there is no link between normal usage of birth control pills and miscarriage or birth defects. She did, however, say that it is the best course of action to not take any unnecessary medication while pregnant and since birth control pills are obviously not necessary while pregnant that I should stop taking them. Other than a few problems with pregnancy and labor, delivery was normal and the baby was perfectly healthy. She is now 10 years old, very healthy, happy, and intelligent. She was born when our older kids were 18, 15, and 12. My husband had a vasectomy just after she was born.
Ok, lets say u didn’t know….?
Q: …that you were pregnant and you continued to take your birth control what would happen to the baby. A friend of mine told me that she continued taking her birth control for about 2 weeks just to miscarry and I don’t know if that’s true. With my son I wore my patch by habit and remembered to throw them all out a couple days after I found out. But, lets say you didn’t know you were pregnant and you continued to take your pills could you actually miscarry?
A: The pills won’t make you miscarry. They’re not designed to do that. That being said, you would get sick if you, say, took a whole pack at once. But it would still probably NOT end the pregnancy; it would be more likely to cause health problems or deformities. And there are only a few kinds that would do even that. Most won’t.If your friend is doing this she needs to know that it will not solve her problem. If this was before and she did miscarry … it was not related to the pills.
Pregnancy Questions..?
Q: This might be a bit lengthy so please bare with me. Ok. Last month around the 16th, I started my birth control pill. I had been off of it for alittle while because I had alot of bills and was unable to buy it for alittle. My boyfriend and I, at the time, did continue to have sex, usually starting off without the condom and later finishing with. He always stopped when he was feeling like he’d be unable to control himself. I trusted him, so I allowed it. One night, after usual sex we had finished and he happend to tell me that he sorta accidently let some of his semen out while we were playing without the condom on. He didn’t feel as if it got out on me. Either way, any is enough. Then we had another incident where we had went sometime without sex and he got off quicker than usual and it got on me, but not inside, right above my vagina. Still scared me. 🙁 I ignored all this because I knew I wasn’t ovulating at the time and I figured I’d be ok. Later that month I started my birth control and we went back to condomless sex. Sometime in, I got overwhelmed at work and totally forgot to take my pills for 2 days. I usually never forget, but did. I still had sex with him one of those days. My buddy told me that as long as I made up for the pills when I remembered that I was ok. Well, June rolls around and my period came on the 10th. My period NEVER comes early, not even during the few months I was taking my pills. My period normally doesn’t start until the 16th or 17th. Been that way since forever for me. It was also extremely weird. I had went pee and when I wiped I noticed brown discharge like blood and automatically assumed, well its my period, just really early. For about four days it continued as a very light, brownish colored blood. I used 2 pads total. Neither was packed heavy, I just dont like leaving them on for along time. I had NO symptoms of a period and trust me, my periods are horrible. Usually really heavy for the first 2 days and extremely painful. I felt nothing and it was almost like it wasn’t there. I decided it was just a lucky period and ignored it. Then I started feeling the weird stuff. I work at subway and there is one single food that gags me every time. Our new tuscan chicken melt. The herbs make me want to throw up and I got pale as soon as I smell it. I started noticing when I went the bathroom, number 2, it was pebbled and not solid, which is unlike me. I have been getting weird stuffy noses and its summer. I have no known summer allergies, at all. Needless to say, I got scared, but ignored it again. Then my symptoms sorta stopped and the unthinkable happened. My boyfriend of over a year broke up with me and so lately I have been extremely stressed like no other. My period was supposed to start today and didn’t, but that could simply be my stress. I have also been getting symptoms again. Just the upset stomach, sore belly, nausea, fatigue, shaky, stuffy nose and etc…unfortunately, most of them can be caused by severe depression and stress. So I am so confused. Should I test? I know for a fact, me being so stressed would not be good on my baby if I was pregnant. I have also barely ate a thing since the whole ordeal and when I try, I feel sick, like I am going to throw up all over if I try to eat. I know not eating wouldn’t be good either. I am just one emotional wreck right now. What do you think? If I am pregnant, I no longer have the babies daddy. I am 20, and having a baby wouldnt be something I’d hate. I just dont want my emotions to hurt him/her. ThanksTo kathryn,No, I stopped taking birth control.
A: I would suggest get a test & if your period doesn’t show up today test w/ your first morning urine tomorrow. Your cycle could be messed up because you stopped taking the pill for a short period of time & then started back up…that could definitely make things go a little crazy for a while. The light period you described could have also been implantation bleeding. It could go either way here….I think its too early for any kind of pregnancy symptoms & its more then likely due to the stress for the breakup (which I’m sorry to hear about, they’re always so hard in the beginning). Just relax & wait to test tomorrow. Good luck
