Q: i just found out today that i am pregnant (yay!) and i was wondering if i could continue my daily situps and jumping jacks? would i hurt the baby at all? what exercises can i or can i not do while pregnant?

I am 24 weeks pregnant and I am going to have surgery cerclage and stay in bed constantly. Is it necessary?
Q: I would like to know if this good for me and for my baby, if I don’t move and just stay in bed constantly, because I am going for cerclage, as my cervix is 1cm opened and I understand that it’s dangerous, as I could loose my baby – but to stay in bed constantly for 3,5 months more – is this good? May be there are some exercises available, so I can move my body at least slightly – I am not sure that it could be good for me not to move at all, if I don’t have any pain and any sign of miscarriage, except they discovered the 1 cm opening of cervix on the screen. Who was in similar situation and knows what is really best to do to keep the baby safe and to keep your own body functioning somehow also. Is this possible or I really have to stay in bed for so long time? I can feel, that the Dr is not sure himself, so may be someone have some experience for this kind of problem? I would like to know more about other women experience…
A: Honey, unless you want that baby born soon, I would do what the dr. says! You shouldn’t show up a cm dilated until you are closer to 32+ weeks! Your baby isn’t even at the age of viability yet! You may not be feeling contrax, but if you are dilating then you are having contractions. Unless you get this circlage done, your baby is coming out! You need the bedrest. That is the best way to keep those contrax and dilations at bay. Just do what your doctor says on this one. What you are sensing isn’t him not being sure of himself, but him worried about you and your baby!
