I have never heard of it being okay. But you should ask your doctor. Maybe the sex was too rough. Or maybe it means nothing at all then again it could be something more serious.

Is cramping and spotting common in early pregnancy?
Q: I am almost 11 weeks pregnant. During 5 to 6 weeks I had a lot of bleeding and cramping that ended up being a twin that I somehow absorbed…anyway..the remaining baby is said to have a very strong heartbeat and is doing well. (As of my last appointment at 9 weeks) It is time for my period right now if I weren’t pregnant, and I am experiencing light cramping and very little spotting. I am just concerned because of the previous events. Am I worrying too much?? Is this spotting and cramping common??I KNOW I need to go to the doctor but I can’t exactly do that right now…I just want to know if I should worry at all until I get there…
A: Hi. 50% of women who bleed in early pregnancy don’t miscarry, and that number is slightly higher if you have already seen a heartbeat , like you have. That’s not to say that you cant still miscarry. I have recently had brown spotting and i saw a strong heartbeat and i am now miscarrying. But i was spotting on and off for 3 weeks and i am not as far along as you are. So our situation is very different. The problem i found with asking this question is that for every person who has spotted and been ok someone else has spotted and miscarrying. But take comfort in the fact you are 11 weeks along and you have seen a heartbeat. A lot of people say spotting and cramping together is not a good sign but this is not always the case. The cramping is your body changing and stretching. So if spotting can be normal and cramping be normal then having them together can also be normal. All you can do is relax and get seen as soon as you can

How common is spotting in early pregnancy??
Q: I’m somewhere between 5 wks (according to ultrasound), and 7 wks (according to LMP), and I’ve had some light brown spotting over the last few days. I’ve heard that it was normal, and not to worry, but when should I start worrying. I know that I shouldn’t spot the whole time. When does it stop? Has this happened to anyone, or everyone?
A: around 30% of women experience some sort of spotting during pregnancy. i’d mention it to your doc, but unless it is bright red, there is a lot of it or it is accompanied by severe cramping it is generally nothing to worry about. i experienced spotting early on in both pregnancies and now have a 2 1/2 year old and am 16 weeks along. my spotting lasted around a week each time.
