it wont neccessarily make you “unable” to have children. Its just that the longer you stay on birth control for the longer it may take for you to become pregnant.

Q: I’m abstinent right now but I chose to take birth control because I have excruciating pain every month during my periods. The pain is soooo bad that I stay in bed all day or 1.5 days tossing and turning…it isn’t surprising either if I have to skip work or school because of it. Here is a rundown of my pain: backpain, headache, nausea, vomiting, cramps in lower abdomen, bad circulation in legs, my face gets all pale, and I pass a lot of clumps. Sorry to be so vivid. So my question, is taking birth control to regulate the pain a bad idea? See, I’ve been on the pill for about 8 months now and I have had no pain whatsoever. But…now I hear on the news and from friends/family that hormones (BC) can give you higher risk of contracting breast cancer…should I just go back to taking ibuprofen for my pain every month…and even then that doesn’t work sometimes. I need strong painkillers for that which I’m against. I don’t want to be reliant on painkillers nor BC is BC is bad for you?

A: i am pretty much in the same boat as you….i suffered extremely bad pain (had to stay home, sweating, shaking, etc) and after taking birth control..WOW…it totally changed everything..now i dont even get pain..its amazing…..BC is okay for you and fine if you only want to take it for the pain..that is okay..if offers additional benefits such as clearing up acne, regulating your period and higher protection against ovarian cancer…..i take alesse which is a low dose pill and its great..no ill effects and my boobs even got a big bigger!If you are apprehensive about taking the pill, i would suggest starting on a low dose one such as alesse or ortho tri-cyclen lohope this helps!

A: birth control pills do not protect against STDs so if you are going to have sex, then be smart about it. I don’t agree with it, but who am I to tell you otherwise.on the other hand, they do help with your period and make it more regular, lighter, and the cramps are practically gone.
