How would you support a child/young person who has experienced traumatic expericences.?
Q: This a question I was given in relation to the child Act. working with children as a social worker, if I child opens up to you and tells you that they saw their mother and father beheaded, how would you support the child.
A: I would try to get them to open up and talk to me about it with out them being afraid to tell me. Ask them how would they feel about talking to someone who has expertise in severe post traumatic cases in that area that could help them get through this experience.I would also explain to them that it is nothing that they did wrong, things just happen to good people and it happens all the time. Some people are just sick and let them know it is not them so they would definatey not feel guily in any way that maybe that had brought this on or maybe feel responsible for what happened like a lot of victims feel or are led to believe. That bad things happen to good people and we do not always know why and may never know why. But there is help to get us through the tough times and the anger that we feel inside for the innocence that was taken from us and that we can and will go on and lead normal lives again and leave that pain behind. It just takes time to heal those wounds. Also let them know that there are good people out there and not all are bad and that you can learn to trust again it will take time though and they will learn who to trust again. Somethings in life are beyond our control and that is unjust righthy so, but if you go around angry, it will eat you up inside and that person that did that to you is not worth the time or energy of what they did. They are sick and need help, so why would waste precious time on someone who needs help when you know that you can become a whole person again and move on and learn to forgive that person for they are sick and pity them, for they may never be happy and be free of those bonds that you will be and that is sad and a waste of a life. That person however that got hurt will go on, and live a fuller and wiser life. And those that go through trauma and things in life grow into strong adults and better people and maybe can help someone else that hurts in the same way and tell them their experience of what happened to them and what they did to overcome their fear, anger and resentment to become a whole person again and get on with life and learn to enjoy and truly value oneself and appreciate life like never before for what they have been through that no one else has ever been through that makes them unique in many ways, and so precious. Sometimes these things are blessing in disguise if we truly let ourselves see them as such. I am a recovering alcoholic and was so angry at first, but you know, it truly was a blessing in disguise, I appreciate every moment of my life because it makes it that more precious, I know this does not compare at all to the trauma of what this person has been through and it must be a nightmare over and over, I have a cousin that was murdered by her own husband and then her triplets burned by him and then he got away with it and got custody. But he never was happy and God got him . I feel I was chosen, so I would see the world diferently and I am special in many different ways due to the castrophies that I went through and my life was spared while many others were not.Look At O.J., I truly believe that God let him go so that he would be out and live that turmoil over and over day after day and be reminded of what he had done. Going to jail would have been to easy for him. So he got the best sentence he could have gotten. Living in ridicule day after day. Every one gets theres we just always know it or we are not there to see it but it does happen rest assured. Anyone who would do such an act to someone is truly and had to be tortutured im some way as a child or some sort of real pain as a child, and that is very unfortunate that someone had to pay for their sickness. But their day will come, and to put someone else in the horrible situation, they will recover and something will come to them that they never imagined would ever happen or that they never thought would come from it, God does not allow things to happen that horrific without rewarding some other way. There is no way you could go through that without some other way of coming out ahead and tremendously ahead in the future in miraculous ways. This person will definately benefit in many ways that they never though possible and get rewards they never thought would come from this but it will happen in due time I guarantee it as if I could bet money on it.Life will go one and I hope the best for this person, my hear goes out to them, what a horrific ordeal I cannot imagine. The person that did this definately needs to pay for what they did two fold. I will pray for them to heal and become whole again and that God touches their lifes and bring true joy from this horrific situation and turns it around for the best and brings joy to their hearts. No one should ever go through this in life and is so unjust, I am baffled by mankind and it is so sad. Imagine what this person went through as a child to do such a horrible crime to someone. That is sad but does not fix what happended to someone else for their sickness, they had a choice for help. But their agony I an sure far outways this other persons grief. For they are truly in bondage forever.Again my love to this person and my prayers for them for recovery and deepest sympathy for this time in their lives..This is one of those things that makes you realize that your life is not as bad as you think and realze it is great. My condolences to the family or the perso sincerely and deeply,

Help with childcare essay – helping a child through one transition?
Q: This is the question I have to answer; ‘Describe how the setting can effectively support the child or young person through one transition.’The setting means nursery, and one of the examples it gives is a child starting full time school.
A: Hi, First of all it helps if you include a little about seperation anxiety.Moving from home to nursery, school or any new setting can be hard for children of all ages.It is important to recognise this and find ways of helping them.0-3 Years – The aim is to make sure that the children have made an attachment with the keyworketr in the new setting before being left. Many settings encourage children to make several visits first to help them to become familiar with the environment. It is also important for settings to adapt their routine to the needs of babies, rather than the other way round.4-7 Years- Children are more able to understand what is happening. If they have had good experiences of being seperated, they will adjust more easily. All children will need time to settle down. If possible children should be put with friends or children that they already know. If children go into a setting and do not know any adults or children, you will need to take extra care of them and introduce them to children who will be happy to let them join in.WAYS TO MAKE TRANSITION EASY..1) Allow the child to make several visits to the new setting to get familiar with their new environment/surroundings.2) When child goes to for the visits – to ensure there is at least one main adult the child builds an attachment too.3) Make the move positive to the child ‘Look at you all grown up, going to big school’ ect – reading books about going to new school or nursery songs.4) Answering their questions – being there for a child at this time, even if they repeat same question over and over – it their way of ensuring they are safe and ok.5) Trying to keep the child with friends they already know – making it easier for them.6) Taking a comforter for the first few days – something that reminds the child of parents or old school ect.The nursery can help the child get ready for big school by educating the child in lessons they will learn at schools so by setting out activities that meet all the subjects they need to learn..Include how you do this in your settting – also talk about how you make new children welcome to your setting – it the same thing really for when they start school.Hope this helps a little!Lx
