If a parent has oral herpes, can the kids get it from the other parent that does not?
Q: if 1 of the parents have oral herpes, the other parent has genital herpes, the kids do not drink or eat after the parent with the oral herpes but has drank and ate after the parent with genital herpes, can the kids get oral herpes?what if the kids start getting blisters in thier mouth? but also have teeth rubbing against the skin.
A: You can not get a disease from someone who doesn’t have it.Herpes – both oral and genital – is spread primarily through skin-to-skin contact. And as you seem to know, the same virus can cause either oral or genital herpes.Oral herpes can be spread by drinking from the same bottle, or eating from the same fork, as someone with oral herpes – but only IMMEDIATELY after. The virus dies quickly away from the human body. Also, as another answerer pointed out, most people (50% to 80% of adults) have oral herpes – and it can be spread if no symptoms are present. The only way that genital herpes would be spread – to someone’s mouth or to someone’s genitals – would be by coming in contact with the infected persons genitals. Not a concern in regular household living.I’ll bet that eithera) both parents have oral herpes, but one has symptoms and the other does not. The children caught the virus from either parent, or a grandparent, or anyone else who might have given the kids a peck on the cheek.b) the infected parent kissed her children – what parent doesn’t – and then gave them oral herpes.Oral herpes is incredibly common. If you live long enough, you will almost certainly get it. It does not lead to other diseases, and is NOT an STD.So I would say yes. These children will eventually get oral herpes. Just like everyone else.Good question.
If I have Herpes STI will my kids get it too?
Q: I seem to be getting herpes outbreaks every now and then. I tried all medicines and some have taken effect but some didnt. Will my kids get the infection from me?
A: Since you said herpes STI, I’m guessing all you have is genital herpes and not cold sores. You won’t be able to pass it to your kids unless you have some sort of sexual contact (which I’m sure you don’t). You can’t pass the virus from them using the toilet after you though, or swimming in a pool with you for example. You need to have sexual contact in order to spread it. Cold sores are a little different though (same virus, just spread a little different). They can be spread by sexual contact (like oral sex), but they are usually spread by kissing someone. So, if you have a cold sore then you’ll want to avoid kissing your children.Good luck!
can i give my kids herpes if they eat and drink from me?
Q: I am a mother of 4 children and i just found out I had herpes can i spread this infection to my kids by sharing food and drinks
A: If you have oral herpes (cold sore), you can transmit it by sharing food, drinks, kissing. If you have genital herpes, you cannot transmit it by sharing food and drinks. If you have shingles, you can give the herpes zoster virus to your kids by close contact if they never had chickpox or the vaccine.HPV is not a herpes virus.
