If you only want one doctor, a gynecologist can be your primary care physician.
Yep GP’s do that and most do exactly that as they are the first doctors women see. If you want to combine your health issues, ask friends or family for a ob/gyn and visit to check for yourself. If you like what you see and the answers are fine for you, stay with him/her. Otherwise, find someone else and keep looking until you find someone that clicks with you.
Yes, a family practise or general practise doc can indeed do a vaginal exam and prescribe birth control pills. They are there to maintain current health, and refer for problems they cannot handle, something as simple as you’ve described is well within thier purview.
Yup! And it’s very convenient, IMHO. My GP did a full physical, pelvic exam and pap smear, tetanus shot, and removed a mole, all in one visit. The only thing he doesn’t do is mammograms, because the hospital has the best equipment.
They could, if they are an Internal Doctor, but not if regular physician. Plus, if they find anything that requires the attention of a Gyno, you will need to see one anyway. So stick to seeing a Gyno and a regular doctor.
Yes. Yes GP’s can and do, pelvic exams and do prescribe birth control.
