What are some causes for heavy bruising?
I’ve had some health problems lately (infection mostly) and have been bruising very easily….I have them on my hands, arms, legs, feet….its awful. What could be some causes for this? Do you think I should see the doctor again?Thanks for the answers!

I would call you doctor and ask. If you are certain medication like blood thinners that will do it. But to ease your worries..I would call you doctor.have you ever been diagnosed with a bleeding problem?do you bleed after brushing your teeth or just spontaneous bleeding from your gums? do you ever have painful joints? do you bleed for a long time from a small cut? if so, you could have a bleeding disorder and should definitely go to your doctor.other causes of heavy bruising include scurvy (vitamin c deficiency) or simply old age (the blood vessels are much more fragile the older we get). also, as mentioned above, blood thinners such as coumadin (also known as warfarin) may cause bruising and your doctor should be consulted.or maybe, just stop bumping into things! j/k
