When I Think of Christmas

When I think of Christmas,

I think of all the lights

and all the caroling choirs

Who help to make it bright.

Paints a picture of love

and beauty all around.

It’s in the Christmas season

where my happiness is found.

Time to decorate the tree;

Garland and ornaments;

A tune of merry joy

that tells the heart, “it’s Christmas.”

Hot apple cider in the mug

and candy canes a treat.

Love when family gathers around

to enjoy the holiday eats.

I love the decorations all around,

the Windows at Macys Herald Square

and the Radio City Spectacular;

you know Santa Claus is there.

’tis the season to be jolly

and show benevolence to others.

Time to see the yuletide log

that adds a warmth like summer.

Perhaps you like to lay in the snow

Having fun making snow angels

or maybe you are one of those

lead to church by sounding bells.

It’s just possible you might love

Seeing stockings hung by the fireside

Or maybe you like to gather around the tree

And stream popcorn on the pine.

While joining together Christmas caroling

I always have a blast jingling all the way

And wrapping gifts to put under the tree

To the lyrics of his one horse open sleigh.

I love to see the lights, so bright

and the panorama of colorful decorations.

Maybe you are one who likes to dance

in the spirit of the Johncunu celebration.

You could be one who looks forward to

sending a gift to someone less fortunate.

Or maybe it is not about the gifts at all

but the joy of being around family and friends.

Regardless of what it means to you

Or how you choose to celebrate

May the joys of Christmas

Be served well done on your plate.

And may this year you find wrapped in cellophane

All your prayers answered and blessings of faith.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

When we celebrate the birth of King Jesus;

That joy and peace might be in your day.

Merry Christmas.
