Tim Tebow

Yes I admit as an avid Gator fan and Tebow supporter that his performance Saturday night was not up to par. But he still threw for over 100 yards and no interceptions. The problem is not that Tim cannot throw as I have heard in the past and it continues to haunt the young man, the problem Saturday night was the 28 yards lost due to being sacked 5 times. I don’t care who you are in the pocket, you cannot get beat up on for that kind of a loss and be productive. The key to Denver becoming a better team is not to get rid of Tim or sit him on the bench again, hoping that someone else can run the offense, it is getting a solid offensive line that can give him time in the pocket or create the holes to run upfield.

I get tired of hearing the negatives on Tebow. Yes, he puts fans in the stands and had a waiting list for his jersey when he first went to Denver. Surely by now those of you out there that simply don’t care for his style or absolutely dispise him would just give up with down-playing the guy’s character. So what if all he talks about on interviews is Jesus and God. That’s all Billy Graham ever talked about and he sold out football stadiums wherever he preached. Face it he’s a good guy and a fine role model for the younger generation of players out there I have seen as a youth football coach. These kids nowadays act like the players they watch, and I have seen 8 year olds want visors on the helmets because some player had one and I’ve heard 10 year olds use foul language on the field and at officals because they have seen professional players do the same. So really if you wouldn’t hassle a kid who wants to do good in school, play sports to the best of his/her ability never giving up against the odds, and go to church every Sunday being proud of their beliefs. Why do grown adults hassle Tim?

Tim, you did all you could do and your team knows it. You faced a team who have been champions in the past and is led by a quarterback that will most likely end up in the hall of fame one day. You finished with your head as high as when you walked out. Your are my sons hero and honestly he couldn’t do any better.

Keep the faith my fellow Gator.
