Tim Tebow: Love Him or Hate Him, the Guy is a Winner!

Tim Tebow is one of professional sports most loved athletes as well as one of the most hated. But why exactly is he one of the most hated athletes? The guy has never done anything to be hated by anyone, nor has he ever done anything to be portrayed negatively through the media. Okay, so maybe some people think that no one is really that clean and that good of a person, maybe some think that he is putting on a front or faking a little in an attempt to make himself look good. However, I do not think anything out of Tim Tebow is a front, nor do I think there is any reason for anyone to ever hate Tebow. I have never been a huge Tebow fan, not because of anything that he has ever done or anything that anyone has ever said, I have just never really followed the guy like some of other players in the NFL that I consider some of my favorites (Cam Newton, Larry Fitzgerald, Hines Ward, etc.). But, even though I am not a huge Tebow-Maniac and you will not find any photos of me “Tebowing” on any social media sites, I would never talk negatively against the guy or doubt his ability to win.

It may not be pretty, but Tim Tebow wins football games! It all started when Tebow was a junior in high school at Nease High School in Florida. As a junior, Tebow was named the state of Florida’s High School Football Player of the Year while leading Nease High School to an 11-2 record. He then won the Florida High School Player of the Year award again as a senior. During his senior year he led Nease High School to a 13-2 record and a State Championship and finished his high school career with 9,810 passing yards, 3,186 rushing yards, 95 passing touchdowns and 62 rushing touchdowns!

Tim Tebow then went on to attend the University of Florida from 2006 to 2009. Tebow began starting at Florida during his sophomore season in 2007 when he won the NCAA’s Heisman Trophy after leading the Gators to a 9-4 record. During Tebow’s junior season at Florida he led the Gators to a 12-1 record and the 2008 National Championship. Tebow’s senior season at Florida was not as much of a success as the previous season, but he still led his team to a Sugar Bowl victory over Cincinnati and a 13-1 record. That is an overall record of 34-6 as a starter throughout his college football career! Sounds like a winner to me!

After finishing his collegiate career at the University of Florida it was time to take his game to the next level. Despite numerous criticisms from many NFL analysts and experts about Tebow’s ability to play and succeed at a high level in the NFL the Denver Broncos selected him with the 25th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Tebow got 3 starts during his rookie season with the Broncos and ended the season with a 1-2 record as a starter. He then began his second season in the NFL in 2011 as the Bronco’s backup quarterback. However, after a 1-4 start for the Broncos, Tebow was named the team’s starting quarterback and as of November 18th, 2011 (Week 11), Tebow is 4-1 as a starter in 2011 as the Denver Broncos starting quarterback. He hasn’t thrown the ball much, he hasn’t thrown many touchdowns,he doesn’t have a ton of passing yards and the numbers haven’t been pretty, but the wins have been beautiful!

Just in case you weren’t counting, Tebow has a career record of 63-13 as a starter from his junior year of high school through the current 2011 NFL season. I wouldn’t bet against him!

Tim Tebow is a winner. State Champion in high school, National Champion in college, and at some point in his career he will be a Super Bowl Champion in the NFL. Like I said before, I am not a huge Tebow fan and I am not jumping on the Tebow-Bandwagon now because he has turned the Broncos 2011 season around, but I can promise to never bash or talk negatively of Tim Tebow and I will always hope the best for him because the NFL, all professional sports for that matter, need more players like Tim Tebow! I respect Tim Tebow and I will always respect him, win or lose! Tebow is a great person, he has morals, he has great character, he stands for what he believes in, he has a passion for the game and will always play it hard, and he will always work hard off the field to become the best player and teammate he can be on the field. Tim Tebow is a role model and if all the young athletes of the world today would follow Mr. Tebow’s lead rather than some of these other athletes who are only worried about their own statistics and their money the future of professional sports would be much brighter! TIM TEBOW IS A WINNER!
