Thoughts on Wisdom

Life in the 21st century is evolving faster than our brains’ ability to keep up with it all. Every day, so many of us are bombarded with texts and tweets, news and information from all over. Does any of this impart wisdom into our lives? Can we gain comfort from all these messages?

WHERE DOES WISDOM COME FROM?

Not from the latest “e-gadget.”

Wisdom comes from God.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5)

God’s wisdom can be found in the pages of Scripture.

Wise King Solomon advised us to not let wisdom and understanding out of our sight: “they will be life to you.” (Proverbs 3:21-22)

WHERE CAN WE FIND COMFORT?

God sent Jesus into the world to give us all hope and comfort

Is there any greater comforter than in knowing that Jesus is our Savior?

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

Daily Bible reading, prayer, use of the Upper Room or other study guides, quiet time thinking about God – these are all ways to draw closer to God and to ask him to draw closer to us. (James 4:7)
