The Motorola Droid Bionic is Great for HD Media Content

The Motorola Droid Bionic is the latest Android-powered smartphone supporting the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE high-speed network. Considering Motorola’s recent purchase by Google, it might one of the last carrier smartphones produced by the company.

Featuring a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, an 8 megapixel camera with enhanced shutter lag and low-light performance, the Droid Bionic’s most compelling feature might be its HDMI connector with a unique mirror feature which allows the user to play games or stream content on a HD television.

Motorola Droid Bionic Specifications

4.3-inch Capacitive Touchscreen 8MP Camera with Front-Facing Camera Used for Video Chat 1GB RAM with 16GB Internal Memory and Pre-Installed 16GB microSD Card Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Flash 10 Support Google App Suite and Android Market Dual Core 1Ghz Processor Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network HDMI Output Port Bluetooth Connectivity

The Droid Bionic is currently available from Verizon Wireless, priced at $249.99. This price assumes a 2-year contract with an associated data plan which start at $30/month for up to 2GB of data.

Playing Android Games on a HD Big-Screen TV

While some other Android smartphones also sport HDMI output ports, the Droid Bionic features a HDMI Mirror Mode that seamlessly echoes the Bionic’s output to a big screen TV. This makes it possible to enjoy movies, photos, or even Android gaming in full 1080p on a large display.

Of course, not all Android games fully support HD resolutions, but the ones that do look stunning! Hopefully, the Android Market improves its search capabilities to make finding HD games an easier process.

Improved Camera Functionality on the Droid Bionic

The Droid Bionic’s 8 megapixel camera features a shutter lag rivaling more expensive digital cameras. Its low-light performance has also been enhanced. The Bionic also sports a front-facing camera used for video chat.

The 1080p HD video capture app supports easy upload to YouTube to share content with the entire world. Google’s camera app works fine despite its inferiority to Apple’s improved camera functionality in iOS 5.

The Motorola Droid Bionic rivals Samsung’s Droid Charge as the top Android smartphone offered by Verizon Wireless. Users residing in a coverage zone for Big Red’s 4G LTE network need to put the Bionic on the top of their smartphone shopping list.
