So I was maxing out my credit card the other day,
Hahaha! who am I kidding? Its not mine rather but the American people’s credit card. Sucks to be them!
I actually don’t have any debt. Zero, nada. NONE. Seriously though, how much fun would it be to spend other people’s money? For real, maybe that’s why the debt is so high. Its too tempting to spend other peoples money. Maybe this is the reason we have a debt problem to begin with. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think we have a debt crisis yet. We had a debt to GDP ration of 120% in WWII and we survived that just fine. Its just all this talk of cutting the government into ribbons that scares me.
Seriously, Social security, welfare and unemployment insurance are the only reasons we don’t have people begging on the streets like India or Mexico. And people want to cut these services? I mean for gosh sakes Social security pays for itself. It collects its own money. That’s like me trying to cool down my car engine with Gasoline.
Think back in the last 30 years how we’ve had non stop spending since Reagan (excepting of course the 3 year period where we trimmed the deficit.) What is the deal? Why all the spending? I’m actually a little afraid of having another Republican president for the very reason that the whole debt ceiling might be completely ignored again. Or in the very least all the government cuts that Republicans want. A government that only spends money on the military, is a government that’s only meant for one thing. War.
In closing. Pay off your bills as fast as you can. None of us can afford to live the like the government, well even the government can’t afford to live like the government for much longer. still, its just smart to live frugally for our benefit, the government has to spend for the benefit of everyone lets just get it under control. Time to chill out on the credit card.
