Spring Has Sprung

Spring is my favorite time of the year, and I know that almost anyone has a favorite activity that they enjoy when Spring comes around. I do enjoy doing several things, like Spring cleaning, and being outdoors.

I don’t know why people insist on doing their deepest cleaning in Spring, but for me, Spring is approaching the end of a school year for my kids, and I like getting all of their old clothes together and organizing their bedrooms so that they will be nice and clean, and all the other rooms in the house. And everything that we can’t use, I get ready for a garage sale, or if it isn’t that much stuff, I will just donate it to a local charity.

Another thing that I enjoy doing in spring is being outdoors. There is a special place at the lake that my family loves to go to, that has huge hills, green pastures, and a nice view of the water. We have been going down there for several years. The kids like rolling down the big hills until they make themselves sick, we also like grilling hamburgers and hotdogs, blowing bubbles and flying kites. We make a day out of these activities. Waking up, going to the dollar store to find kites, bubbles, and any other outdoor toy that might be fun, having an ice chest to pack all of the food in it, and there we head to the lake. There is nothing more that I enjoy, than to watch my children playing outside, laughing, and having fun with each other. They will race down the hills; they will blow tons and tons of bubbles, and eat. We have even been known to pack a blanket and catch a couple of minutes of relaxation under the big trees out there. It is so peaceful, and nobody goes to that spot. While we are out there it is like that particular place at the lake belongs to us. It is beautiful and fun for everyone.

Spring time also means garage sales, the town has a community garage sale with over a hundred people that set up at the park to sell things, and we will go spend the morning looking around at all of the things that the vendors have, and ten afterward, we will let the kids play on the playground equipment and fed the ducks.
