Snakes, a Girl’s Best Friend

I’ve never been the kind of person who enjoys cleaning up after a dog. Who is, though? Those tiny four legged creatures that run around barking and take up a TON of time and money, yeah I’m not a big fan. Don’t get me wrong, dogs are great once you get past the training and loss of sleep routine. I even have a dog! His name is Ben and well, he’s a pain in my behind.

The love of my life is not a furry little friend. She has no fur, or legs, at all. Her name is Raura, and she is a 2 ft Brazilian Rainbow Boa. She has the most unique pattern I have ever seen in a snake! She’s absolutely breathtaking. She has a personality, believe it or not. When it comes to being cool and calm, she’s all about that also. Striking and biting aren’t big hobbies of hers, unless it comes to her dinner. And for the jewelry lovers, life jewelry is always good taste. She loves to wrap herself around your wrist and pretend to be a bracelet. I take her everywhere I go, if I get the chance, of course. She mostly leaves with me during the summer. She is cold blooded, so taking her outside is iffy and depends on the weather.

Raura isn’t my only snake, though. I also have 7 others.
– 2 beautiful ball pythons
-3 corn snakes
-1 rat snake
-1 little baby garter snake

Snakes are extremely simple to take care once you have the tools to do so. Even though they’re simple to maintain, it takes a lot of time, effort and money to get them situated. Plus, you have to have the confidence to hold them. If they go without attention, striking isn’t uncommon.

Snakes are one of a kind pets, and should be treated that way.
