Early last year I was introduced to one of the most fabulous iPhone case companies ever! Root Cases, a small boutique start up iPhone case manufacture, they took a risk and sent me out a bamboo iPhone case, that I still use to this day! Unlike traditional Apple accessories Root Cases has taken a huge leap and thought outside of the box. Finally a product with no polycarbonate plastic, what a relief!
So when I saw Root Cases tweet out that they are now making bamboo cases for the MacBook Pro I had to get in contact with them again. A week later a beautiful bamboo MacBook Pro case was waiting for me, and it was as awesome as I expected.
The case is made of extremely high-end bamboo, stained beautiful amber brown and finished with a satin waterproof coating. It is lined with the same product as there iPhone cases, smooth black velvet layer. This is an essential piece of this case, it will not only provide a scratchproof environment, but will protect your device should you unfortunately drop it. It also provides a smooth surface to place your MacBook Pro in and out of the case. The fit is absolutely on the money! The case is sealed close with two shiny steel hinges, and two tongue and groove bolts. When it’s closed it forms a perfect all around bamboo uniform.
I used the case for the past two weeks, and everywhere I went people couldn’t help but ask. It is all the talk of the Computer Science College, at The University of South Alabama! Even grumpy old professors felt inclined to inquire. The case provided full protection, easy to hold and manage. Best of all it provides limited bulk; this has been a problem with many other cases that I have used.
