Review of Sapphire Garlic & Shrimp with Rice Meal

I like many garlic shrimp and rice type of dishes, so when I came across Sapphire Garlic & Shrimp with Rice Meal in the frozen foods section of my local Dollar Tree store, I was thrilled. This dish looked good and the price was right. I decided to purchase it, try it and write a product review about my experience with it. Here is what I discovered!

I am familiar with this brand and what I remembered most about it was though the portions are small, they are so affordable that you can easily buy two and make a hearty meal. I bought Sapphire Garlic & Shrimp with Rice Meal for only one dollar. True the portions are small, that is why it is so very low cal. Buying two or three of these and combining them together as a meal still saves me money. This box is bright purple and hard to miss. This dish has shrimp, snap peas, broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts, onions, shallots, wine, garlic and spices in it, among other ingredients. That all sounded fabulous to me. I could not wait to taste this meal.

This meal is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I chose to prepare it. You do not have to do anything but place this carton in the microwave, cooking on high for four minutes. Then let it stand for three minutes before serving. That is it! I unwrapped and served. This dish looked spectacular and smelled great. When I tasted, I loved it. The veggies all have a fantastically fresh texture. The sauce is yummy and very garlic enhanced. Since I love garlic, that is a plus. The shrimp are small, but they are tender and flavorful. I could not find one thing wrong with this dish. The rice was delicious. Yes, there is a tiny portion, but the high quality is there and the taste is restaurant quality, I must say. The shallots and wine really rock this meal. Yum.

I rate Sapphire Garlic & Shrimp with Rice Meal four stars out of five stars. I will be buying it again. One serving has only 80 calories in it. Just 15 of those calories are from fat. This dish has 1.5 grams of total fat, 0 grams of saturated fat, wow, 0 grams of trans fat, 1.5 grams of polyunsaturated fat, 0 grams of monounsaturated fat, 25 mg’s of cholesterol, 510 mg’s of sodium, 11 grams of total carbs, 3 grams of dietary fiber, 3 grams of sugars and 6 grams of protein. One serving has eighty percent of my daily vitamin A need. Fabulous! This dish is also loaded with vitamin C. This product does contain shellfish, seed products and soy.

I enjoyed trying Sapphire Garlic & Shrimp with Rice Meal and writing this food product review all about it. It is delicious and very budget friendly. You can combine several of these and make a spectacular meal in a jiffy. This one is a winner!
