Review of Limited Edition, Febreze Air Effects, Falling Leaves & Spice

With the fall season quickly approaching, and a new crispness to the air, I begin to ache for my favorite season. The scents in particular are what call to me; from pumpkin pie, cinnamon, spiced apples, and yes, I even enjoy the scent of dead leaves.

Yesterday afternoon, I needed a restock for my bathroom on air fresheners, and Febreze Air Effects, for the past few years now has always been my go-to choice. I was pretty excited to see that their summer scents are just about gone, and they have re-stocked their section of shelving with all new fall fragrances. Well I should say 1 new limited edition fragrance, but I am sure there will be more to come.

This particular seasonal scent goes to Fall Leaves & Spice.

What agitated me about this newly released fragrance however was the fact that they were charging 50 cents more for it, in comparison to the older scents. Normally I pay $2.49 for a can of Air Effects, no matter what scent it is, or what limited edition promise is slapped onto the bottle. When it came to Fall Leaves & Spice though, I coughed up the $2.99, and felt happy about my purchase, even though I felt it was ridiculous to charge more for it.

The new seasonal Fall Leaves and Spice fragrances comes in an easy to recognize can. It’s a pretty amber color, with leaves drawn into the color.

The Scent:

Febreze Air Effects, Fall Leaves & Spice definitely greets your senses with a fall scent. It first smells like a spicy pumpkin, but quickly manipulates into a dead leaf sort of twang, with a very subtle cinnamon after-bite. It’s interesting to say the least.

Those scents fade out quickly though with a more airy and breezy type freshness. The fall fragrances are still present, but they sort of get over-killed by the clean freshness that takes priority quickly after spraying the scent.

Regardless though, you will smell a spiciness in the air for quite some time after spraying it, which is a major plus, considering many of Febreze’s older Air Effects scents never managed to stick around for too long.

This one however has a much longer pull when it comes to lasting fragrance.

Overall:

Fall Leaves & Spice is one of the newest additions to the Air Effects collection. Due to its limited edition label though, it’s not one that will be around for long. Target has them available now, so get them while they last.

Personally I would have liked a more fall darkness added to the scent, perhaps some musk or amber to really add to the fragrance, seeing that it ends with a more fresh note, and not such a dark and spicy one.
