Picasso Artist Study – Lesson Ideas and Printables

I love the quote by Pablo Picasso: “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”. This says it all! We want children to learn art, but remaining an artist is another story! Well, one way to help them at least understand they can continue doing art is to teach them about the man who did remain an artist ~ Pablo Picasso.

I have compiled several great resources where you can find lesson ideas and printables to help in teaching children about this wonderful artist Pablo Picasso.

PICASSO’S BIOGRAPHY | Picasso was a Spanish modern artist and lived from 1881 to 1973. He was trained in art as a child in various schools, but he struggled to accept direction….etc… There is a great deal of information like this as well as other resources you can find about him on this site. I have linked some of them below as well.

TIMELINE OF PICASSO’S LIFE | Here you will find the timeline of Pablo Picasso’s life from 1881-1973. You will be able to see how his life in art and how our world progressed by using this simple tool.

PICASSO HEAD | This site is so fun for kids and adults alike. They can create their own Pablo Picasso art right on-line. This will keep them creating for hours. Then they can e-mail it to themselves or another friend or relative to share their creativity.

PICASSO COOKIES | Students will learn about Pablo Picasso by being introduced to his art, and then by creating their own masterpiece after his work.

PICASSO LESSON PLANS | This site has some great ideas for lesson plans for middle school age on down to elementary school age, as well as links to other great resources that will help in teaching your child.
