Ocean Grove Auditorium to Hold 9/11 Remembrance

The Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, New Jersey, will hold a September Eleventh Remembrance on Sunday, September 11th, at 7:30 p.m. There will be government officials, first responders, pastors, survivors and musicians as a part of this special service.
Monmouth County lost 147 past and present residents on 9/11, and the State of New Jersey mourned the deaths of almost 700 people.
Music will be an integral part of the remembrance, with American themes and composers featured. The gathering will be a place to mourn and remember, but also to celebrate the American spirit.
The lawn of The Great Auditorium will be covered with shoes, as Star 99.1 brings to town the “Empty Shoe Exhibit.” 2,974 pairs of shoes, each with an American flag, will represent the lives lost on September Eleventh. The shoe exhibit will begin on Friday, the ninth, and conclude on Monday, September twelfth. The shoes will then be donated to Soles for Souls, a non-profit organization.
The Great Auditorium does not have its own parking facility, so be prepared to park in town and walk a few blocks if you plan to attend the remembrance.
