No Better Time for Term Limits

The United States of America is currently wondering aimlessly through time. Nothing is being done to fix the financial situation we find our economy in. Umemployment is out of control, and entitlement programs are growing faster than the means to support them. The Republicans blame the Democrats, the President blames the last administration, they all blame the Tea Party, and the people are the ones who suffer. What is wrong with this picture. Term Limits, that is what is wrong, very simple, very easy to fix, and can be completed quickly, by the people and for the people.
Next year when you go to vote, if the candidate your thinking of voting for, won’t push and support term limits for Congress, simply fire him, by voting for someone who will. Until we make these lifetime politicians understand, that they work for us, the people, nothing will change. How can you expect a group of people who vote on and pass laws they do not have follow, to have your best interest at heart.
If they had to be first in line to enroll into Obamacare, do you think they would have read the law? Do you think they would have passed it? They have there own plan, there own system, why would they want to change? Social Security would not be the mess it is right now, if those in Congress had to use it for their own retirement. They voted themselves a seperate plan.
George Washington, knew the perils of not having term limits, only once, during a World war, has a president served more than two terms. If the President of the United States should only serve two terms, does it not seem counterproductive to have Senators and Congressmen serving three or four decades.
The average age of a Senator is 60, the average age of a Congressman is 55, according to NBC News, some being office since the 1970’s. How can any of these people know what it is like in the real world of today. If the laws you vote on and pass effect the lives of so many, but have no effect on your own, what chance of an impartial process will there be. The people who assist in getting you reelected will undoubtably expect something in return, how long can the list of people needing repayment be after 30 or 40 years.
Armed with the knowledge we as voters have, one conclusion is all that is possible. We as a nation have to come together and fire every incumbent who has served more than 2 terms in the Senate or the House. Republicans, Democrats, or independants, no matter, they all must go. If they as a body will not do what is best for the country and the people, then WE THE PEOPLE, will have to do it for ourselves. We are all sick and tried of the he said, she said, of Washington D.C., so lets do something about it.
If every four to six years we were sending a new, fresh group of people to Washington, to do what was right for the rest of us, and they had to be first in line to follow the laws they pass. Things would be better sooner rather than later. Laws would make sense, people would be able to count on the government to do what it was intended to do. Be a Government by The People, and for The People, doing what was right for it’s People.
