NCAA Football 2012: The Best Game of the Year

Being a huge college football fan I was excited to dabble with the new features of NCAA Football 2012. This edition will bring many elements to the gaming experience and may prevent many people from getting up to go to the restroom. For all the new features and improved game play, I deem NCAA Football 2012 the best video game of 2011. There are four main aspects of the game that I truly enjoy.

The developers worked tirelessly to develop the ultimate fan experience creating authentic entrances and traditions that so many of us college football fans adore. They captured the excitement of the big game as the University of Michigan comes out of the tunnel and leaping to tap the GO BLUE banner or even the Georgia Bulldog barking at the competition. This new edition will make true fans extremely happy that they spent their hard earned dollar on this title.

During the development of this game EA Sports has asked Central Florida’s Marching Band to perform drum rolls and other beats that genuine college football fans will recognize and enjoy. Along with this feature, EA Sports has improved the noise level at stadiums. No longer with the Eastern Michigan University Eagles sound like a night game at LSU. The increase noise will have an effect on the opposition as home-field advantage will be more evident in this new edition of NCAA Football.

The game play has improved including tackling and breaking the tackle. Before the tackling was not fluid and EA Sports has changed all of that with the ball carrier actually needed contact to fall to the ground. The game is overall smoother and many of the glitches have been resolved.

Finally, my favorite part of the game is the Road to Glory (RTG) option. In earlier editions of RTG, the high school playoff was the only option and scholarships were awarded based on your performance. The new edition allows the gamer to play the entire senior season. Along with playing more high school games the player can play both sides of the ball and scholarships will be awarded based on the position. Someone may want to play quarterback in college but they were a better safety in high school and will get better offers as a safety.

All in all this game is the real deal and I will admit that I am a little bias, but try to prove me wrong with this game. Hands down this is the best game of 2011 and I have no idea how they can ever make this game any better.
