My Revelations for the Latest Game from Resident Evil

For those who have a Nintendo 3DS you will want to pick up this game. If you are a fan of the Resident Evil series then this is a no brainer and you probably already got Revelations. Resident Evil: Revelations takes place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. The main character, Jill Valentine has a new partner, Parker Luciani, and they go on board an abandoned cruise ship in the Mediterranean Sea on a search and rescue mission for Chris Redfield. This was based on the last information that was given by Chris’ GPS coordinates.

As soon as you enter the ship the game takes on all the elements that you love about the Resident Evil Franchise. As you make your way through the ship you come face to face with eerie and creepy crawlers that jump out at you. This may seem odd to those who have never played a game like Resident Evil, but my nerves were shot after some missions. At certain points of the game you feel as though an enemy will attack, yet nothing happens to you. Then like a great horror flick you get attacked when you least expect it.

I was pleased with the controls of the game and how easy it was to navigate through each level with the set up of the DS Control system. There is a dodging technique that is a huge upgrade which you need as you move your character through each level. This new addition comes in handy especially when you are fighting a boss. Plus the dodging technique is a great way to save on ammunition.

I was impressed with the flexible touch screen. This allowed me to solve parts of the game and easily switch my weapons in a snap during the game which is definitely needed as you make your way through the ship. Your character can also use the “Genesis” scanning equipment to see where your enemy’s weaknesses are and how to beat your opponent and move on. There is a mode where you can switch from first person to third person view depending on your preference to play the game.

Once you have completed the main story mission you still have other ways to play Revelations. There is the Raid Mode which enables you to battle opponents and add new weapons to your arsenal. The fun does not stop there. If you play the main storyline again you will be able to use your new weapons in that game. You can connect online to play with a friend. You have to love a game that is packed with extras to make every dollar you spent on the game worth it.

Resident Evil Revelations came out on February 7thand sells for forty dollars. For more information on the game and to check out the trailer of the game make sure you check out the Revelations website.
