Just when you think the Muppets will fade away, with all the new characters which are hitting the big screen and television, they just keep coming back stronger. If you have a young child who loves the Muppets, and in particular, Fozzie Bear, that child will adore a cupcake that looks just like the silly yet famous bear. Whether you’re hosting a birthday party for your child, or you just babysit for young kids, they’ll love Fozzie Bear cupcakes which are easy enough to make.
Bake regular cupcakes from a boxed mix or your favorite recipe. Although the cupcakes can be any color/flavor, chocolate is the ideal choice since Fozzie Bear is brown. Bake the cupcakes according to package or recipe instructions and allow to cool completely.
Frost all the cupcakes with white frosting. Use a closed star frosting tip to make the fur for Fozzie. Fill the frosting bag with creamy peanut butter and dot the stars all over the cupcake.
Use Starburst Fruit Chews to make the nose and mouth for the bear. With clean hands, smash and work the candy until it is pliable. Roll pink fruit chews into a large ball and set it on the cupcake to make the nose for Fozzie Bear. Roll a red fruit chew out flat and cut a mouth shape. Cut a tongue shape from a pink fruit chew – which has been rolled flat – and stick the tongue to the mouth. Set the mouth on the cupcake. Alternatively, you can use a large gumball as the nose and fruit leather to make the mouth and tongue.
Smash miniature marshmallows flat and set them on the cupcake to make the eyes. Turn a chocolate chip upside-down and stick it to the marshmallow; do this to both eyes.
Cut a chocolate chew and a chocolate candy melt in half to make Fozzie’s hat. Set the chocolate chew on the candy melt and place them on the cupcake to create the hat. Instead of the candy melt and chocolate chew you can use half of a Peppermint Pattie and half of a soft cookie.
Use the star frosting tip again to make the ears for the bear. Just create the small stars beside the hat so that the star meets the hat as well as the cupcake.
Any child who loves the Muppets loves Fozzie Bear because he’s so funny and, now, he’s so delicious, too. Kids will gobble up the cute bear cupcakes for a special treat or at a Muppets-theme birthday party.
