Logo Jewelry

Open up a fun new realm of possibilities, when it comes to earrings, by thinking twice before throwing something in the trash. Every time you throw away something with writing, or a logo, you’re throwing away new earring designs. When you cut pieces from boxes, cans, and labels, you can make unusual earrings with logos from candy wrappers, noodles, pop, bottled water, or nearly any other product. Once you make even one pair you’ll never look at trash the same again!

There are so many product packages that you could use to make new earrings. Cut a word from a box, a paper label, or even a pop can. Let’s start with a box. If you cut a word from it, then frame around the cut cardboard with a card stock or craft foam frame, you can make adorable earrings in minutes. But if the logo is way too large for earrings, or it’s written horizontally and you prefer vertically, upload a picture or scan it to your computer. When you print it out on paper, to your desired specifications, you’ll take this craft along a different route.

When using paper, glue the chosen logo or word onto a piece of thin cardboard. If you want, laminate the paper before gluing it to cardboard. Or, treat it with a paper glaze product from a craft store. If you’re cutting a logo from an aluminum can, like a soda can, cut the bottom and top off first. Cut up one side to open it then cut out the desired section.

You can give the logo a little more charm, whether it’s aluminum, paper, or cardboard, by using pinking shears, scalloping scissors, or other craft scissors. Or, attach the logo to something else, like a folded piece of foil, or a colorful piece of cardstock. With your print program you can add various accents to the logo itself, and to the frame or other embellishments. With tiny craft items, like fake jewels or beads, you can add even more accents to the jewelry.

No matter what type of product package you’ve used, and whether you’re making earrings, a necklace, or a bracelet, you’ll simply poke a hole in the top of the design. Open a jump ring, slide it through the hole, then clamp the ring onto a chain, or onto an earring wire.

Start looking around your house to find food and beverage products, bath and body products, health products, and others, so you can begin creating fun and unusual earrings, necklaces and more. Now you can celebrate your favorite pasta sauce, candy bar, or bar soap, in a whole new way!
