Linsanity Returns to the Garden

Tonight the New York Knicks have an opportunity to continue their winning streak and extend it to seven games. If the Knicks win tonight, they will be at .500 for the first time since the end of December. And they did that against their opponent tonight, the Sacramento Kings.

Since, that game in late December the Kings have changed head coaches. Paul Westphal is gone and Keith Smart is in. The Kings sit at the bottom of the Pacific, at 10 -18.

The Knicks, now are 14 -15. They’ve been playing good, defensive basketball. Leading the charge is Jeremy Lin, the Harvard grad has surprised everyone in the NBA and Knicks fans around the world. Linsanity hits the Garden tonight. It will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to Lin and the return of Amar’e. Amar’e is returning after a week of mourning the accidental death of his brother in Florida. Amar’e had 21 points last night for his first game back against the Raptors.

Quietly, uniting the team is Tyson Chandler. I can’t state enough how big his signing to the Knicks is. He is the center they have needed for at least ten years. Tyson and Lin have been working extremely well together. Now, with Amar’e back, that should hopefully add to the mix, because teams were keying in on the Chandler-Lin tandem. Now its Lin to Chandler, Amar’e. Next up Lin to Chandler, Amar’e, Carmelo.

The Garden should be loud tonight. And the Knicks should be 15 – 15. Linsanity continues.
