Liars Lie

A liar lies
In the bed that they made
All alone until the wrong doing fades

A liar lies
To hide the simple truth
In their story, they’re not them and you’re not you

A liar lies
To cover up another lie
Doesn’t care if the consequence is “goodbye.”

A liar lies
In order to have a tale to tell
In reality, they don’t fair too well

All begins to unravel
Far too much to keep track of
How fast a lie travels
Rids relationships of love

A liar lies
To come out ahead
To keep their vanities fed

A liar lies
To get out of accountability
They’re set in their ways void of flexibility

A liar lies
To gain a temporary friend
On flattery they always depend

A liar lies
To conceal the darkness within
Never over anything, but claim all is forgiven

Falsehoods back to back to back
Till finally the pack of lies is towering unsteadily
You fear you’ll never return to the right track
When it’s simple… the truth shall set you free…
