Las Vegas Wedding: 5 Things You Should Know to Prepare

Planning on getting married in Las Vegas, Nevada and don’t know where to start? Here is a list of five things you should know about preparing for the day of your life.

Venue

First off, choose a venue. Does a hotel and casino’s theme appeal to you? Las Vegas’ hotels and casinos offer a variety of backgrounds to choose from for your photographs. Want classy, elegant or breathtaking? There’s a hotel and casino for that. Want original, exciting or modern? There’s a hotel and casino for that as well. Or maybe you want to skip the hustle and bustle of the casino scene and would prefer to marry in a quaint, beautiful chapel. Well, there are an abundance of those to choose from. Whichever you decide, make sure it is something that fits what you want and need.

Packages

Now that you have chosen your venue you will need to look into and purchase your package. Some chapels have packages that start at $200 while some hotels and casinos offer packages starting from $2,000 and go up to $25,000. Packages can include flowers, a photographer, wedding memorabilia, your cake, a wedding planner or even a DVD of your ceremony. Decide which package and included amenities best suit you and your budget. But remember, the dress is not included.

Length of Stay

One of the things that will help maximize your wedding in Las Vegas is the length of time you plan on being in the city. Try to stay for at least four days. This gives you time to familiarize yourself with your venue and its location as well as give you some time to enjoy one of the greatest cities on earth. Try to plan it to where you have a day or two before the wedding and a day or two after, so you can recoup.

Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties

Your bachelor and bachelorette parties will fit into the extended amount of time you have given yourselves in Las Vegas. Whether you are having a joint party or separate ones, plan on having them a day or two before you get married. Notate this date in your invitations so that those who wish to attend can plan their visit accordingly.

Invitations

Now that you have your venue, package, length of stay and parties mapped out it is time to send out your invitations. These need to be sent about four to six months in advance. Your guests will need to start saving money, book flights and hotel rooms, request time off from work and possibly even find baby-sitters. Giving them ample time to prepare is a major courtesy on your part. Besides, you might find that a lot of guests might also take the week of your wedding off; Las Vegas is a vacation, after all.
