Prepare the area where you are moving the mobile home to. This area needs to be level with plenty of room for maneuvering both the mobile home and the truck. The area should be level and you may want to mark the exact location where you want the mobile home to sit when it arrives.

Prepare the inside of the mobile home for the move. Take any glass light fixtures down and place them on the floor, preferably in a carpeted area. Tape the cabinet doors shut, and take down anything hanging on the wall or the ceilings.

The final thing to do before you can move your mobile home is to remove the blocking from beneath the mobile home. The blocks keep the mobile home level and can be reused at the new location in most instances. Use a bottle jack to lift the frame off of the blocks. This step should be completed after the axels and tires are in place and preferably when the truck is connected to the mobile home.

Visually inspect the mobile home to see if there is anything, such as a porch or a satellite dish which needs to be removed. Roof top air conditioners will need to have the four panels removed for transport. Check to be sure the telephone line is also disconnected.
