Host a Stress Free Super Bowl Party

As Super Bowl Sunday quickly approaches, many people will plan to have get togethers with friends and family. The object of a Super Bowl party is to gather together to watch the game, enjoy the company, and snack on food and beverages. This all sounds great, unless you happen to be the person hosting this get together. For the host ,it can be a lot of work and detract from the enjoyment of the gathering. So this year, make it easier on yourself by making your hosting duties less stressful.

If you insist upon providing all of the food and beverages yourself, make it simple. Prepare easy to serve snack items such as crackers and cheese trays and vegetable and dip platters. The preparations can be done the night before for the veggies, and the crackers and cheese will take little time to prepare. Pretzels, chips, and popcorn are other great alternatives. If you want a main entree, opt for something like homemade chili you can throw together in a large crock pot earlier in the day, to be ready in time for your guests.

Also, pizza is another great Super Bowl food choice. Delivery pizza can get a little expensive, so you may opt to purchase several frozen pizzas to prepare at home. Little Caesar’s is also a good choice, as they have the $5.00 (may be more in some areas) Hot-N-Ready varieties available in cheese, sausage, and pepperoni. You may ask one of your planned guests to stop and pick up the pizzas and bring them to your home on their way. Keep in mind though, this is Super Bowl Sunday, and you’re not going to be the only one with this idea, so plan accordingly to allow ample time for your order to be made. Plan ahead with your designated pizza bringing guest to make sure all arrangements are in order before the big day.

Another even easier option is a potluck style affair. Simply make a list of the foods and beverages you would like to serve, and ask everyone on your guest list to please bring one item. Not only will this save you the hassle of going out shopping for everything, but is will also save you a lot of money. You are still doing your part by providing the gathering place for everyone, and most likely, providing other items such as paper cups, plastic cutlery, etc. Potlucks are a great way for everyone to contribute a little something for the overall success of the event.

Keeping it simple will enable you to spend more time with your guests and less time in the kitchen. This year, you can actually sit back along with your company and enjoy the game! Happy Super Bowl, and may the best team win.
