Great Wineries Within Miles of Central New Jersey

New Jersey offers over 50 wineries and seven wine trails. Wine trails are groups of wineries that are located near each other. Wine Trails include the Atlantic County Wine Trail, Cape May Wine Trail, Cumberland Wine Trail, Gloucester Salem Wine Trail, Shore Wine Trail, Sussex Wine Trail and the Warren Hunterdon Wine Trail. Within these wine trails you can participate in a passport system. Each participating winery will stamp your passport. Once your passport book is completely stamped you mail it to the Garden State Wine Growers Association. You will then receive a complimentary gift and a chance to win a grand prize. Many wineries offer weekly festivals and/or activities. Some wine trails offer combined activities with a specific theme. Pennsylvania offers a wine trail system as well. These trails include Berks County, Brandywine Valley, Bucks County, Endless Mountains, Groundhog, Lake Erie, Lehigh Valley, Southwest Passage, Susquehanna Heartland, and the Vine to Vintage wine trail. New Hope Winery
A 45 minute to a one hours drive from Central Jersey is a quaint winery located in a 18th century rustic barn in New Hope, PA. The New Hope Winery offers a great selection of wines including their fruit wines such as Concord and Blackberry to their Sangria and their very popular holiday spice wine that can be served warm with a fragrant cinnamon stick during the holidays. The winery offers wine tasting, unique gift and antiques, wine accessories and gourmet foods. Sand Castle Winery
Sand Castle Winery is located on the Delaware river in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Sand Castle Winery makes all their wines from its own 100% vinifera grapes.
Sand Castle’s founders, Joseph and Paul Maxian make you feel right at home and comfortable. Unique to the winery are their guided tours of their winery, vineyards, wine cellar and castle. Their VIP tour offers you the opportunity to learn about the different types of wine, how to properly taste wine, how to read wine labels, tasting wines and learning how different types of foods change the taste of the wine. Cream Ridge Winery
Cream Ridge Winery is located only minutes from Six Flag Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ. Cream Ridge offers outstanding fruit wines including cherry, mango, blueberry, apricot and cranberry. Even their Cabernet Sauvignon taste like grapes. They also offer a great holiday spice wine perfect for Thanksgiving and the winter holidays. The winery has many special events including pig roasts, music festivals, kids activities, as well as winery tours on most weekends and gourmet food sampling. Renault Winery
Renault Winery is located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ and is a destination in itself as it is a comprised of 1,400 acres of vineyards, beautiful gardens and streams on an historical site. It offers a gourmet restaurant in which you need to go through a tunnel of three enormous 105-year-old redwood wine cask. They also make it even more enticing by offering their very own golf course. Events such as their grape stomping festival, murder mysteries, Octoberfest, Medieval theater, and many others allows you to be entertained amongst award winning wines.
