Food Types to Lose Weight!

It’s no secret that consuming fewer calories in our daily meals than we do at the moment is the best way to losing weight.

It has been proven that certain food types can help you lose weight without the stress and pain of dieting and exercise. Many of us already eat these foods each and every day, but we also spice them up tasty additives such as sour cream, cheese, butter or other high calorie contained foods. This in turn does the exact opposite from losing weight; these foods make you gain weight. These types of foods taste fantastic with these great tasting extras and it’s very difficult to eat them without adding something. However, with some will and determination, it is achievable.

Foods which have negative calorie can be described as a food type which has a slimming effect on our bodies. For example, a carrot on it’s own will use an increased amount of your bodies energy when being digested, which can result in an overall reducing effect to your body. This is not only due to the amount of energy your body uses to digest the carrot or any other negative calorie food, but also partly due to the increase in your metabolism that these types of foods create naturally. Overall, this results in a loss of energy which in this instance is measured in calories. Please note that the term ‘negative calorie’ may not mean what you think it means, negative calorie doesn’t mean that these food types have zero calories in them or that they are anti-calorie. Below is a short list of some of the negative calorie foods available:

Grapefruit, cranberries, lemon mango, apples, pineapple, oranges, tangerines, raspberries, asparagus, strawberries, green cabbage, beets, cauliflower, carrots, cucumbers, Chile peppers, garlic, lettuce, green beans, papaya, onions, spinach, radishes, zucchini and turnips to name but a few. There of course many more which you can find out about by reading through a medical report written by a Doctor Neal Barnard, titled, ‘Foods that Cause You to Lose Weight.’

Although many people disagree with his findings, he explains in the book the effects these negative calorie foods have on our bodies if eaten alone. He has stated that in order for these food types to be effective in a positive way, they must be consumed as part of a healthy balanced diet.

Someone who had read the book posted a review stating that they had lost 30 pounds using the information Doctor Bernard had written in his book, by applying the healthy balanced diet to the negative calorie foods. This is why it is so important for our bodies to consume all the food types it requires in order to remain healthy. These include proteins, vitamins, minerals, healthy carbohydrates, fat and other nutrients. Without a balance of all these food types, our bodies cannot function at the highest level, meaning it cannot burn off excess fat that we want to get rid of.

Eating the above mentioned foods certainly has it’s positives, however consuming them with the other necessary food types will allow us to lead a far healthier and happier lifestyle.
