Season 14 of “Dancing With the Stars” doesn’t kick off until March 19, but fans want to know — now! — which celebs will be on the upcoming cast.
Will any of these stars be on the “Dancing With the Stars” 2012 cast? We checked Twitter to try to sleuth out some clues.
First up, it wouldn’t be a “Dancing With the Stars” season without a little self-campaigning!
Actress Jackee Harry recently tweeted: “To ALL Who Would Like To See Me On The Upcoming Cycle Of “Dancing with the Stars”, tweet @DancingABC and let them know! #DWTS.”
The “227” actress has long wanted to compete on the show. In a 2010 Madame Noire interview, Harry said, “I would love to be on “Dancing with the Stars”…And I would play to win. Once the lights are lowered and the music comes on, I go from Jackée to Janet Jackson!’ The actress also made a recent “DWTS” appeal on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show,” so she appears to have her bases covered!
Pure DWTS tweeted this rumor: “Will Paula Deen Dance On Dancing With The Stars Season 14?”
The speculating tweet included a link to an article about the celeb chef, her recent diabetes reveal and the possibility that she could be on DWTS. (According to Hollywood Life, an inside source says “producers are seriously considering the 64-year-old cook and host for season 14.”)
And the Twitter status of The Tim Tebow says: “TIM TEBOW SET TO APPEAR ON DANCING WITH THE STARS.” The all-caps tweet includes a link to a World News Weekly article about the football star being partnered on the show with pro dancer Karina Smirnoff. But the official Twitter page of Tim Tebow is here — and there is no mention of the “DWTS” article.
WetPaint TV recently tweeted: “Jenny McCarthy Gets Cozy With Cheryl Burke – Is She Closer to Joining DWTS Season 14?The linked article detailed McCarthy’s blossoming friendship with “Dancing With the Stars” pro Cheryl Burke after the two were spotted together at a World Series of Boxing event in Los Angeles. But a few weeks ago, the Hollywood Reporter quoted McCarthy as just saying no to “DWTS.”
“They ask me every year, and I just can’t do it,” she said. “I tell them why: You guys keep saying every year you’re going to get A-List people and then it’s the girl that was with George Clooney … “
And maybe we shouldn’t read too much into this one, but actress Tori Spelling recently tweeted about her guest hosting stint on CBS’ “The Talk” — and she made a special mention of one “Dancing With the Stars” regular.
Spelling tweeted: “Great day co-hosting with the ladies of @TheTalk_CBS ! I’ll be on again tomorrow at 2pmEST/1PST/c busting a move w/ DWTS @louisvanamstel.” The next day she appeared to be having a blast following along to Van Amstel’s dancing demo. Now wouldn’t Tori and Louis make a great “DWTS” couple?
Meanwhile, TV Guide Magazine has tweeted the dirt on when we can end all of this speculation once and for all: “This just in from ABC: The next cast of Dancing With the Stars (@DancingABC) will be announced Tues., Feb. 28 on @GMA. #DWTS.”
