‘Dancing with the Stars’ Results Show: The Muppets, Cobra Starship, Final Three Are Rob, Ricki and J.R

It was no real surprise who made it into the final three next week on Tuesday night’s “Dancing with the Stars” results show. Before we knew who they were going to be there was the usual filler entertainment of musical guests as well as the guest and pro dancers. Carson Kressley lightened things up after a tense Monday night show. He claimed to have styled and designed the top four couples costumes.

Carson gave special attention to his man crush, Maks. Cobra Starship provided the ballroom with singing their latest hit while the Muppets perfomed a number from their upcoming movie. Macy’s Design-A-Dance featured Anna and Derek (for the umpteenth time). The AT&T spotlight performance focused on four young male dancers and their struggles at school from those who think dancing is just for girls. Here’s how it all went Tuesday night (November 15).

Encore Dance

It was inevitable Rob Kardashian would get the spotlight since he’s never been asked to do the encore before. We saw the cheesy Brazilian Carnival float along with their samba that included Rob’s first “10.” I liked seeing the ending again with its spectacular confetti.

Carson Kressley – Queer Eye for the Dance Guy

Too bad he wasn’t on last week. Since they had Dancecenter I guess there wasn’t enough time for Carson. This was a re-creation of his hit show “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.” However, he was styling and designing for the top four, more specifically Maks whom he has had a crush on all season. It was great to see Carson’s crazy campy humor. Hopefully he will be as funny and entertaining during the finale next week.

Cobra Starship (Not to be confused with Jefferson Starship)

At first I thought they were having Jefferson Starship on. That got me excited until I realized that was not the case. They sang their hit song “You Make Me Feel” while the pro dancers Kym Johnson, Tristan MacManus, Sharna Burgess and Sonny Peterson danced circles around them, entertainment-wise.

Macy’s Design-A-Dance

One of my favorite pro dancers, Anna Trebunskya, along with DWTS wunderkind, Golden Child, judge’s pet Derek Hough were selected by the fans to dance the paso doble to Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” Personally, I would have preferred another male dancer since Derek is constantly chosen season after season. The song is not one of my favorites. Mostly, it was all about Derek in the dance with very little featured on Anna. I must say this was not one of the better Design-A-Dances.

AT&T Spotlight Performance

If I had been disappointed with the Macy’s Design-A-Dance I truly enjoyed this new feature of spotlighting on up and coming dancers. In this case it featured four male dancers from Boston. David Guzman, Jacob Guzman, Matt Gilmore and Kyle Scanlan all attend The Gold School, a dance school. They mostly talked about their struggle while going to academic school where some of their classmates, mostly male jocks, bully them saying dancing is only for girls. Or dancing is not a sport. Well, at least they get to dance with beautiful girls each time. Now they got an opportunity to perform live on “Dancing with the Stars” with pro dancers Lacey Schwimmer, Chelsie Hightower, Sharna Burgess and Petra Murgatroyd.

The Muppets

This was truly the highlight of the evening. It was so sweet to see all of The Muppets, especially Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog, together singing and dancing. Of course they were there to cross promote their upcoming movie, “The Muppets”, that will be released in theaters next week on Wednesday, November 23.

The Results

After Rob’s encore dance he was the first to be announced as one of the top three. Hope and Maks were up next at the halfway mark in the show. They were the first to be in jeopardy. Near the end Ricki and J.R. were to learn their fates. Ricki was the second to be in the finals which left J.R. in jeopardy (yeah right!). Tom Bergeron mentioned that one of the couples was not necessarily in the bottom two (definitely J.R.). After all of their whining, temper tantrums, rude comments to judges and lack of chemistry Hope Solo was eliminated. Next week the three remaining couples will take on two dances. Lady Antebellum will be the musical guest on Monday night’s final performance show.
