Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Attend the 2012 Producers Guild Awards

Stepping out to honor Hollywood’s main players, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were on-hand for the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday night (January 21).

Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the “Moneyball” stud suited up in Gucci as his Michael Kors black dress clad partner mingled with fellow guests including actresses Kat and Karen Kramer.

Though he lost out to Thomas Langmann of “The Artist”, Pitt was among the esteemed names in the running for the night’s top prize of Producer of the year with other nominees including Judd Apatow, Barry Mendel and Clayton Townsend (Bridesmaids); Jim Burke, Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor (The Descendants); Ceán Chaffin and Scott Rudin (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo); Michael Barnathan, Chris Columbus and Brunson Green (The Help); Graham King and Martin Scorsese (Hugo); George Clooney, Grant Heslov and Brian Oliver (The Ides of March); Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum (Midnight in Paris); and Kathleen Kennedy and Steven Spielberg (War Horse).

Meanwhile, Angelina received The Stanley Kramer Award for “In the Land of Blood and Honey” while other honorees included Leslie Moonves (Milestone Award), Steven Spielberg (David O. Selznick Achievement Award), Don Mischer (Norman Lear Achievement Award) and Stan Lee (Vanguard Award).

In garnering the coveted prize of Producer of the Year (Thomas Langmann), Michel Hazanavicius’ black-and-white picture of “The Artist” confirmed its position as a front runner going into this year’s Oscars ceremony. The PGA and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have agreed on best picture winners every year for the past four years.

The romantic dramedy tells the story of the intersecting fates of silent film star George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) and plucky song-and-dance gal Peppy Miller (Berenice Bejo) at the dawn of the talkies. Since making its debut at the Cannes Film Festival last year, the movie has been collecting accolades and acclaim, including the award for Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, at the Golden Globes earlier this month.
