“Big Sean” Anderson – Music & Misdemeanors

Born Sean Micheal Anderson, “Big Sean” is a American rapper who has been heating up the charts. He in the past has been charged with sexual assault, from a woman at one of his musical performances.

Born in Santa Monica, California Sean moved to Detroit while he was an infant to be raised by his grandmother and mother. While in high school, Sean would frequent WHTD, which is a hip hop radio station in Detroit. This radio station would host rap battles. In these rap battles, rappers would face off taking turns rhyming towards and about one another to see who can get the biggest rise out of the crowd using their freestyle, or “on the fly”, rapping skills. Every week for a time “Big Sean” would be featured on the station competing in these rap battles honing his skills in the process.

In 2007, Kanye West signed Big Sean to his label G.O.O.D. music after hearing him freestyle at a radio station two years prior. Before making his own debut album Big Sean released a mix tape call “Finally Famous: The Mixtape.” The tape featured his first single “Get’cha Some”, and was recognized widely, even being the focus of content articles in largely distributed magazines such as “The Source”
and Detroit Metro Times. Subsequently a video was released of the hit single which was produced by the legendary Hype Williams. The artist had originally said that his official debut album(Finally Famous & Consequence’s Cons TV) would be coming out in September of 2010. He would later post on Twitter that his album would actually be coming out later, in the following year.

According to RealTalkNy.com says that New York state police charged the rapper with sexual abuse, misdemeanor counts of forcible touching, and unlawful imprisonment. Apparently there was an accomplice in this crime who is an associate of Big Sean named Willie “Sayitainttone” Hansbro. Local law enforcement officials got the call from Artpark State Park, which is where “Big Sean” Anderson and Rapper Wiz Khalifa were performing that day.

Big Sean’s attorney has released a statement on behalf of his client saying, “(the men)were arrested and them immediately released by the NY State Police in connection with an allegation made by a female who was at their concert in Lewiston, New York…I am confident, after further investigation, both men will be vindicated.”

TheUrbanDaily.com tells us that there was a small “beef” between Big Sean and Young Money rapper Drake. Big Sean alleges that Drake stole his rap style, or in other words the way he delivers or performs his lyrics. Drake has said that he had nothing but the utmost respect for Big Sean. Big Sean has not stated a response to date.

Big Sean is in good company to produce more hit singles. After clearing his name we can expect more club jumping hit tracks from the rap star.
