“Battle: Los Angeles” (2011) Review

In March of 2011, Earth is invaded by unknown forces from another planet. As the world’s major cities fall to the invasion, Earth’s defenses rely the city of Los Angeles on the western seaborne. A platoon of United States Marines is sent on a mission to hold the line and rescue a group of civilians. But along the way, they fight to survive their toughest battle yet and learn more about their enemy than they ever anticipated.

Battle: Los Angeles is a movie that shows humanity’s determination and valor when their very existence comes to the brink. It is constantly keeps you at the edge of your seat wondering what’s next to come. While it’s not Saving Private Ryan or Independence Day, two apparent film influences; it is better than the dull Cloverfield or War of the Worlds.

It’s always simple to be comical about the adrenaline-maxed film. However many, if not all; of the roles feel crucially real and the performance is gruesome while filled with testosterone packed action. It’s far from boring and refreshingly able to teach you a thing or two about the brotherhood of soldiers in midst of war.

War-weary SSG. Nantz leads on as America’s role model for true heroism in a desperate time for leaders. Battle: Los Angeles is a perfect depiction of what it is to be an American; what is to be human and never giving up. Semper Fi will always be a true and natural depiction of American Heroism.

Thanks to Battle: Los Angeles, I’d snap a salute to our brothers-in-arms.
