‘Batman: Arkham City’ Features Daughtry, the Raveonettes and Panic! at the Disco

Soundtracks are geared toward pushing scenes along; the songs chosen have to be specific to the scene so the viewers can experience how the characters feel. Another thing that soundtracks offer is a showcase of various artists in similar genres. It’s a way to discover new bands.

“Batman: Arkham City” is no different. The soundtrack to the video game, which comes out October 18th, will be released October 4th, giving fans a taste of what to expect when the game comes out.

Listening to the 12 song original soundtrack, each song pushes the story forward and I can imagine the type of scene that is happening on screen. The artists involved do a fantastic job providing insight via their eclectic brand of atmospheric music. With a storied history that Batman provides, “Batman: Arkham City” is yet another chapter to a magical story that has touched the hearts of millions across the world.

If anything, the soundtrack to “Batman: Arkham City” will garner attention to artists who have yet to break through to the mainstream, artists such as Coheed and Cambria, Blaqk Audio and The Damned Things.

“Batman: Arkham City” continues upon the foundation of “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” with Arkham City serving as the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal master-minds.

Fans of the Batman franchise will find this collection of music a wonderful breath of fresh air. With the game being released on October 18th, millions of Batman nation can prepare themselves for what’s to come.
