As summer ends
The world slows down
Fall dresses the Earth
In a colorful gown
Animals work
To store what they can
While ignoring humans
As much as they can
The days are still warm
But getting shorter you see
While squirrels plan
And take refuge in trees
Summer is ending
But it’s not all in vain
For after winter comes spring
And the Earth is born again
