Arthritis Pain

My life is based in part around blogging and writing articles. My fingers do the work that my mind tells them to do. How can I type when the finger stiffness stops them from doing what I want them to do? I wonder, and I search the Internet for answers.

Here I sit at the computer, at 4 AM, trying to get an article written. My fingers hurt. I just put them under the cold water in the sink.. I did get some relief, but not enough to say that my fingers no longer hurt.

Exercise my fingers, I was told. So I move my fingers up and down and around. I get some relief but not enough to make the keyboard do what I want it to do with any speed. So I slowed down to a snail’s pace and wrote this article.

It is a battle between finger and brain. If I tell the brain what to do; where to move and stretch them, my fingers slowly start moving, but not enough to say I am no longer in pain or that my fingers are no longer stiff,

Growing older is great but the finger pain that goes with arthritis of the hand is not!

However, things could be worse and I am thankful for only having stiff arthritic fingers when I hear about others who have lost their memory function.
