Arizona Snowbowl Ski Resort Travel Guide

Located in Flagstaff, Arizona, The Arizona Snowbowl Resort is a must for serious skiers. Since there is so much planning that goes into traveling, why not start now?

At the Arizona Snowbowl resort, there are forty different trails for skiing as well as a beautiful park. There are four terrains designed for beginners and one for advanced and intermediate each. The Snowbowl’s largest terrain is Agassiz reaching 6,450 feet in length while Little Spruce Carpet is the smallest terrain at a length of 150 feet. The resort also features Sunset Terrain Park for those of you who enjoy performing skiing tricks. Be prepared to stay for at least a week to get the full experience.

The resort provides lovely lodges and cabins of its own that will capture the hearts of tourists. The two lodges are Hart Prairie and Agassiz. Both house their own bar, along with food and beverages. Although offering more services, Hart Prairie Lodge is actually smaller than Agassiz Lodge. What I like about Agassiz Lodge is that you end up getting more with less. If you are coming here on vacation, primarily for the skiing, I recommend staying at the Agassiz Lodge because of its simplicity; however, if you are coming here to throw a wedding reception, I would go with the Hart Prairie Lodge since it offers banquet facilities. The way the interior rooms of the lodges and cabins are laid out will give your stay a homely feel. A few of the cabins even provide a gas fireplace of their own. I can say that when you get to see firsthand how cold it gets there, you will be very glad to have the fireplace inside. As expected, amenities are included such as towels, soap, and television. You will certainly not want to miss out on the special dinners they serve at their restaurant on location. With pizza on Wednesdays and wing night on Thursdays, it will satisfy all your hunger needs. Sunday through Thursday lodging prices are $79 for each night’s stay and Friday and Saturday nights are $119 per night. Holiday night stays cost more at $129. After a long day in the cold, the cabins will be your favorite place to retire at dark.

If you are a first time visitor, here are a few important reminders on what you should bring with you and what you should leave behind. Since cotton absorbs water, wearing cotton clothing out in the snow will make you very cold. Wool on the other hand does not absorb water. For this reason, you will want to make sure that you pack all wool clothing and leave your cotton ones at home. Also, bring a pair of waterproof ski pants to replace jeans. Since it can get very cold, wear several layers of clothing. Keeping warm will help you further enjoy your stay at the Arizona Snowbowl resort.
