2011 NFL Week 9 Predictions and Picks

It’s time to make my 2011 NFL week 9 predictions and picks. Let’s start with Miami in Kansas City for one of the early Sunday contests in the NFL week 9 schedule. Can the Dolphins squeeze off win number one or are they destined to remain in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes? I think the Dolphins are playing much better but I don’t think they’ll be able to beat the Chiefs on the road. If you would have asked me that earlier this season my guess would have been yes-but the Chiefs are playing much better football these days. My predictions for this week 9 matchup? Chiefs win 23-16.

Atlanta is in Indianapolis to face another winless team. Can the Colts get win number one? I think the Falcons are starting to gel just in time and that might mean very bad things for the Colts. Indianapolis just can’t seem to get the offense on track and I don’t think that will change against a tough Atlanta defense. Falcons win 26-16.

My 2011 NFL week 9 predictions and picks continue with Tampa Bay in New Orleans. The Saints aren’t going to be too happy heading in to this contest after losing to the Rams last week. New Orleans will pound out touchdowns in abundance in a 38-20 win. Drew Brees tosses 4 more touchdown passes-two of which go to Marques Colston.

The Jets travel to Buffalo for what could be a huge game during the NFL week 9 schedule. Can the Bills continue the home field magic? My answer is absolutely yes. Buffalo wins a tight one 23-20. Ryan Fitpatrick tosses two touchdown strikes in the victory.

Dallas tries to rebound from a humiliating loss to Philadelphia on Sunday night when they host Seattle. Things are looking pretty good for a Dallas win but Seattle is playing better of late. Still, I think the Dallas defense will regroup and provide 4 sacks, 2 interceptions and a fumble recovery in a 33-14 win.

Cleveland is in Houston to battle the red hot Texans. The Browns won’t be able to muster much offense or slow down Houston in this one on Sunday. My 2011 NFL week 9 predictions and picks say Houston wins 37-10. Matt Schaub throws two touchdown passes and Arian Foster runs for two more.

San Francisco travels to Washington for another week 9 matchup. Can the Redskins get it together against the 49’ers? I have this strange feeling we are in store for a bit of an upset in this one. Redskins win 23-18.

Cincinnati visits Nashville for a date against the Titans. Can the Bengals win on the road now that they have seemingly found a strong quarterback to receiver combo? I think Cincy can win here if a few bounces go their way but I don’t get the feeling they’ll walk away with the victory. Titans win a very tight one 26-20 in overtime.

Next up for my 2011 NFL week 9 predictions and picks is Denver at Oakland. Will the Tim Tebow show completely crash on the road? Or will Tebow provide more ammo for his fans with an outstanding performance? I think the Broncos will put up much more of a fight in comparison with their effort against Detroit-but it still won’t be enough. Raiders win 31-21.

The New York Giants travel to New England in what could be the game of the week. Eli Manning and company avoided near disaster last week but the stakes are higher this week at Gillette Stadium. Tom Brady puts up an incredible performance with 4 touchdown passes as the Pats win a shootout 34-26.

St. Louis tries to make it back to back wins when they travel to Arizona. The Rams looked much better in a win against New Orleans and seem capable of winning two in a row. The Cardinals though will hold off the thoughts of any upset with a 24-17 win.

Green Bay visits San Diego in a game that looks terrific on paper. My take is it will be anything but. San Diego has way too many holes and the Packers will exploit them. I look for Aaron Rodgers to stay on pace with 3 more touchdown passes and the Packers stay undefeated with a 34-22 win.

Baltimore is in Pittsburgh for what could be a defensive showdown. The Steelers are tough at home as witnessed against the Patriots in week 8. Can the Ravens find a way to win on the road? I absolutely love this game and I think this could potentially be a preview of the AFC title game. Steelers will find a way to win a tight one 24-23.

Chicago won’t have an easy task on the road at Philadelphia on Monday night. The Bears have been up and down and the Eagles are still trying to find their way out of an early season hole. The Bears defense won’t make it easy on Mike Vick but I think the Eagles will somehow muster enough offense to take away a 27-16 win.

That’s it for my 2011 NFL week 9 predictions and picks. I’ll be back with more predictions and picks for the week 10 schedule next week-so until then, enjoy the football games everyone!
